Photography at the West Tower Manor House
Our photography is creative in style, but documentary in approach. West Tower Manor House lends its self to our way of working, there are so many opportunities and backdrops available at this venue, that sometime we feel spoilt. It was great fun to photograph David and Becky’s wedding day – if you are a regular reader of our blog, then you may remember the pre wedding photoshoot we did. As a reminder it can be found here.
Going through the wedding day we cover the usual family photos, signing the register, cutting the wedding cake and first dance, but go a little deeper and capture emotions, relationships and moments. David and Becky were so relaxed that these special moments were easy to photograph.
“This is the essence of every wedding and what make every wedding unique”.
West Tower Wedding Photographer
We have been to West Tower, as wedding photographers many times in the past few years. We have alway had a great time photographing the wedding of our special couples. Each time we have managed to create something different for our couples.
The possibilities for photography at any point of the compass are endless and change with the seasons and the weather. The view west over the fields can be a great backdrop on a clear day, with views of the sunset. Looking back east towards the building and grounds, there’s plenty of space for throwing confetti and the trees provide shade which is great for photos on really sunny days.
There are great locations at West Tower to get those group photos of family, bridesmaids and ushers both indoors and out. The steps to the building provide a ready made setting for a full group photo and there’s enough paving for those who aren’t keen on standing on the grass.
West Tower can accommodate over 150 people, the magnificent ballroom with steps leading in, is a superb photo opportunity as the couple enter for their first dance! The evening is a really exciting time, where great photos are taken. With the help of DJ Steve Mitchell, both David and Becky and all their guest were up dancing to the music and having a fantastic time.
What a wonderful and special wedding to be part of, and a total joy to capture all the memories for the newlywed couple.
We can’t wait to return again soon for another wedding to photograph. Big thank you to Steph, Sue and all the team at West Tower Manor House.

West Tower Wedding Photography
We were totally delighted when Ben and Charlotte invited us to capture their Wedding day at West Tower, Aughton. Immediately after they had set their Wedding date for July 2016 ~ lots of you may already know Charlotte as she is an expert in Wedding planning, helping so many of you plan your dream Wedding at West Tower Hotel. The Wedding ceremony took place in the Ballroom, decked out with flowers of neutral tones with a touch of pink, carefully crafted by Laurie and the team. As Charlotte entered the room, was the first time I have ever seen an emotional Ben as his wife to be walked down the aisle on the arm of her proud dad. Celebrations followed, packed with atmosphere, a gorgeous day surrounded by so many friends and family, concluded with great speeches, shortly followed by a mountain of confetti. Evening entertainment kicked off by our good friend Steve Mitchell DJ – who loves a packed dance floor and some amazing singing by Ben’s little sister, Milly, dedicated to Ben and Charlotte. The partying carried on, and Milly even did a few numbers with the band too. Well pictures always speak volumes so here goes.

We first met Rachael with her parents at an open evening, shortly after she set her Wedding date at West Tower. She looked around at other photographers (after all thats what lots of ladies do) and then she came back to us and secured us to to capture their day. Jon said he camera shy and didn’t relish the thought of being photographed, but after speaking to him, he meant he didn’t want to spend hours away from the guests with lots of posing. We agree too, your day should be real, lots of pure images that capture the true atmosphere, and reflect the mood of your day. From first talking to them about their Wedding, their colour theme was always going to be full of vibrant colours, which looked just amazing on the day.
The boys started their morning off at the The Grapes in Formby, just a few minutes walk to the church, whilst Rachael and the girls were nearby at Rachael’s parents home. Rachael’s dad had been poorly leading up to the Wedding and it meant a lot to her for him to be able to walk her down the aisle, a very emotional moment not just for Rachael, but for Rachael’s mum and brother too. a short car journey to West Tower were Sue and the team were waiting with arrival drinks and canapés. So welcoming to the guests who had travelled from all over and had never been to a Wedding at the venue before. Lots of partying, lawn games, and even a jager train for the guests, which Rachael was determined to win! Well, action speaks louder than words, so sit back and live their day through a small selection of our favourites. Ste and Rachel chose to get married on a Monday, at West Tower. As mid week weddings are becoming more popular and Rachel and lots of her friends are teachers, a Monday at the start of the school holidays was just perfect. A gorgeous spring morning as Rachel and the girls arrived at West Tower, which stayed with us the whole day and night too. Every Wedding tells a different story to us and every wedding day is unique in every way,.packed with atmosphere and filled with magical moments. Most definitely one of the largest bridal party’s ever who definitely now how to party and 2 gorgeous flower girls,( one of the little girls is the daughter of Kev and Anna, our bride and groom from a couple of years ago.) It was great to catch up with them too.The vows, Ste definitely kept the registrar on his toes. The speeches- Ste’s dad provided temporary beards for the guys.. (not so temporary for Ste, as he found out when he tried to remove it) The girls- definitely full of fun, even late into the evening, on the steps at West Tower. Just a few of the many highlights of a magical day. Great working with Steve Mitchell again and special thanks to the amazing staff at West Tower.
We first met Liam and Jenna at bridal preps for our bride Sophie, last Summer. Jenna owns the fabulous “Lovely”, just 5 minutes drive from West Tower. We all got on really well, Jenna and Liam’s personalities are infectious, so we were really excited when the asked us to capture their Wedding too. On the morning of the Wedding, I met up with Jenna at their home in Ormskirk, whilst Bob caught up with Liam and the boys, at his mum and dad’s home. A morning packed with lots of atmosphere, – emotional moments on ever level. Photography at St.Andrew’s is very restrictive, but we still managed to capture some very special moments, before heading off to West Tower. The venue looked spectacular, thanks to Mat from Red, Jenna wont mind me saying, she doesn’t do traditional on any level and her wedding was truly unique. As always the staff at West Tower were just the most caring, friendly and welcoming- nothing is too much trouble.Atmosphere – Weddings are full of different emotions and we love to capture them all. Liam and Jenna’s personalities are infectious and easy to see why they are so popular. Both times they were announced into the room, the whole room celebrated with them – taking cheering to a new level. Their first dance was followed by a full dance floor, thanks to good friend Steve Mitchell who even organised a cheeky little “throwing of the bouquet” too. We made lots of new friends at the Wedding and we hope to see them again in the future. Well over to the real story.. The pictures
